What?
This event is what is says on the box – short talks from 4 up-and-coming Service Designers learnt in their first year (or couple) as a service designer. We’ll also have some refreshments provided by Deloitte with some time to mingle afterwards.
Why?
Service Design in Australia is a young and emerging profession. As we move towards the title being more widely used an recognised we need to listen to everyone. Especially those that have entered the field recently as they’ll see some issues more clearly than the more experience practitioners.
Who?
The talented Service Designers are:
Selin Kinali from NAB Labs
Rachelle Dunstan from Medibank
Celeste Galtry from Isobar
Stefanie Di Russo from Deloitte
It’s not really true to all any of these designers as having their 1st year in Service Design. Unlike other professions being a Service Designer in Australia comes from something else. Stef has a long history in Design Thinking in academia. Celeste has transitoned to Service Design from Experience Design. Selin has a long history in Business Improvement of Services. And Rachelle studied Service Design abroad and is more like 2 years into her Service Design career… but the organiser of the event couldn’t think of anything better to call this so, please, roll with it.
How?
They’ll be doing it PechaKucha style; 20 slides with 20 seconds per slide. 6m40s per talk. So we should be done pretty quickly.
Where?
The Leadership room of level 10 at the Deloitte CBD offices: 550 Bourke St. It’s behind security so we’ll have someone meet you in the lobby.
When?
Thursday the 30th of June. Get there at 6:15 and we’ll start the talks as soon as we can.
